The Heavenly Gondola lifts you straight out of the village in South Lake Tahoe and up the mountainside to an observation deck at about 9,100 feet. From the deck, the entire 22-mile length of the lake spreads out below —” arguably the most complete view of Tahoe you can get without climbing for it.
It's a year-round attraction: skiers and snowboarders ride it up in winter, while summer visitors come for the view, the deck and the lift-served hiking and activities up top. It sits on the South Shore, but the panorama takes in the whole basin, North and East Shore included.
