Three days is enough to ski a friendly home mountain, tackle a big one, and still leave time for sledding, snowshoeing and a proper après scene — all from a North or East Shore base near Incline Village.
Before you come, read up on winter driving and chains and book lodging early — powder weekends sell out.
Day: Start at Diamond Peak above Incline Village — uncrowded, family-friendly and famous for runs that ski straight toward the lake. Evening: Warm up with après and dinner in Incline (see Food & Drink).
Day: Pick a powerhouse — Mt. Rose for the highest base and quick access, or Palisades Tahoe for legendary Olympic terrain. Evening: Live music and a late bite at Crystal Bay.
Morning: Trade lift tickets for a mellow morning — sledding at Tahoe Meadows or a snowshoe up Chickadee Ridge to meet the chickadees. Afternoon: One last lake-view lunch before the drive out.
